For this week’s Team Player Series episode, I will share how to get parents on board. I’m sure each and every one of you listening right now has experienced backlash from a parent at some point in your career. If you’re like me, you probably realized if you had communicated more in the first place some of those situations never would have occurred.

Basically what I’m saying is to communicate, communicate, communicate! There is a caveat of course. The expectations, communication style, and feelings of parents are all going to be different. These tips I provide will be helpful no matter what the parent needs from you when collaborating about their child. Join me next week for another episode in the Team Player Series!

Some topics covered in this episode are:

  • 6 ways to collaborate effectively with parents

  • Specific examples on how you can best word messages to parents

  • How to set expectations and boundaries with parents

  • Tips for how to always keep things positive

  • Ideas that will make all parents comfortable and appreciative
